Privacy Policy

Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains what information we collect and how we use it.

🗓️ Last updated: November 4, 2025

Queztly ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Queztly mobile application (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data when you use our Service and the choices you have associated with that data.

We use your data to provide and improve the Service. By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

1. Information We Collect

We collect several different types of information for various purposes to provide and improve our Service to you.

A. Information You Provide to Us Directly

  • Account Information: When you create an account using a third-party service like Google Sign-In or Sign in with Apple, we receive Personal Data from that service. This typically includes your name, email address, and public profile picture. We do not collect or store your password for these third-party services.
  • User Content: We collect the content you create and upload to our Service. This primarily includes the photographs you submit to complete challenges, along with any associated metadata (like date, time, and location if included in the photo file).

B. Information We Collect Automatically

  • Usage Data: We may automatically collect information on how the Service is accessed and used ("Usage Data"). This Usage Data may include information such as your device's Internet Protocol (IP) address, device type, operating system version, the parts of our Service that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages, and other diagnostic data.
  • Device Information for Push Notifications: If you grant permission, we collect a device-specific token to send you push notifications. This token is an anonymous identifier generated by your device's operating system (iOS or Android).

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected data for the following purposes:

  • To Provide and Maintain Our Service: To create your account, allow you to participate in challenges, display your User Content, and operate the core features of the app.
  • To Communicate With You: To send you push notifications about challenges, account activity, and important service updates. You can opt-out of these notifications in your device settings.
  • To Improve Our Service: To understand how users interact with our app, to monitor and analyze usage and trends, and to develop new features and functionality.
  • For Security and Safety: To protect against fraud, abuse, and security risks, and to enforce our Terms of Service.

3. How We Share and Disclose Information

We do not sell your personal data. We may share your information with the following third parties for specific purposes:

  • Cloud Storage Providers: Your uploaded photographs (User Content) are stored on secure servers operated by third-party cloud storage providers (often called "blob storage," e.g., Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Azure). These providers are contractually obligated to keep your data secure and are not permitted to use it for any other purpose.
  • Third-Party Authentication Services: When you log in, we interact with Google or Apple to verify your identity.
  • As Required by Law: We may disclose your information if we are required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities (e.g., a court or a government agency).
  • Business Transfers: If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your Personal Data may be transferred.

4. Data Storage and Security

The security of your data is important to us. We use commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your personal data from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. However, please remember that no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure.

5. Data Retention and Deletion
(Soft vs. Permanent Delete)

We have a specific policy for how your data is handled when you decide to leave our Service.

Account Deactivation (Soft Delete):

You can deactivate your account at any time through the app settings. When you deactivate your account, it is "soft deleted." This means:

  • Your profile and User Content will no longer be visible to other users within the app.
  • We will stop sending you routine push notifications and marketing communications.
  • However, we retain your account information and User Content in our databases and blob storage. We do this to allow you to easily reactivate your account in the future and for our internal analytical, security, and record-keeping purposes.

Permanent Deletion:

If you wish to permanently and irrevocably delete your account and all associated data, including all photographs you have uploaded, you must send a specific request to michael@queztly.com. Upon receiving and verifying your request, we will take steps to permanently delete your data from our active systems and storage within a reasonable timeframe, in accordance with applicable law. Please note that some data may remain in our backup archives for a limited period before being completely erased.

6. Your Rights and Choices

You have several rights and choices regarding your information:

  • Access and Update: You can access and update certain account information through the settings in the app.
  • Push Notifications: You can disable push notifications for Queztly at any time by going to your device's settings.
  • Data Deletion: You can request the permanent deletion of your data as described in Section 5.
  • Jurisdictional Rights (e.g., for users in Europe or California): Depending on your location, you may have additional rights, such as the right to access a copy of your data, the right to data portability, or the right to object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, please contact us.

7. Children's Privacy

Our Service is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 13 (or the applicable age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and you become aware that your child has provided us with Personal Data, please contact us. If we become aware that we have collected Personal Data from a child without verification of parental consent, we take steps to remove that information from our servers.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date at the top. We may also provide notice through the app or via email. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
